As soon as it is safe to wash it. I don't know if there is a curing time for single stage paint that prohibits cleaning it for a while. My goal is to have a usable truck, so mudding is part of the fun. The downside is that I don't have mudding tires for it.
curing time is the same as multi stage paint it's the layers that have to cure primer first coat ext. ext . 45 to 90 days total cure time. after 30 days can be washed with water and mild soap i just went through all this 6 months ago it sucked
If I painted it camo, then no one would be able to see it.
I want to be seen driving this down the road for safety reasons. My truck has manual steering and brakes. I want everyone to see me so we don't have to rely on them.
There is a 70's highboy in Vallejo that is hand painted camo (kind of neat looking) and a late 90's f250 4X4 lifted and professionally painted camo. I was happy to drive by it this morning and see it is covered with mud. He is using his truck.
You don't need brakes as long as the horn works...!
Dan- Remember that you worked on trying to get the horns working when we did the cab swap? They still work about as well as then. I guess I had better go with the cattle (battle) bumper!
It shouldn't take but a hour or two and a few parts to add powerbrakes to your truck, in fact might not be a bad idea to upgrade now while it's real easy to get to the firewall.
