Well its time for new ball joints. Does anyone have the part #'s for upper and lower? When I search various web sites the all list for 8500GVW and under. My 99 has a 06/98 build date and is 88000 . Last ones came with a shim kit to correct camber and I have been told there is a new adjustable type(no shims). thanks .....otto
i have an early 99 and just put in moog's. a little stiff for a few weeks but have seemed to even out. i plowed last year with the bad one's and plowed this week with the new one's and "wow" what a differance.
It's also amazing how much better it will steer when you can actually grease the ball joints. Get one of these adaptors for the grease gun and put the small straight grease fitting in the top ball joint. The fitting will clear the axle u-joint and you will be able to grease it later.
Is Powerstrokes shop.com still in business? For some reason my computer doesn't like them . (their website won't come up. Or does anyone have another source. I like their kit
They are still in business. Something changed on their site a few months ago that causes the black squares. I think it is a security setting in your and my computer. I can't hardly stand to navigate it anymore. So I just drive over there and ask..
I paid less than $200.00 for a set of greaseable ball joints straight from the local Ford dealer.
I recommend you call them first before buying online.

I'm sorry, I don't.
F550 ball joints are different than 250-350 ball joints, from what I was told.
I just told the counter guy what I had and he ordered them for me.
I just did my ball joints this past weekend and my engine is a 99.5 but the chassis is early-99 - the Moogs fit fine. I put the plug back in the upper since I didn't have a straight grease fitting. I figured if I grease them every 5,000 miles it won't be too much trouble to put the 90* fitting in & out, but maybe I'll get the 90* adapter for the grease gun anyway.
And whatever you do, use some power tools!! Air preferably, and have a big cheater bar for getting the ball joints out & back in! I did everything with hand tools, and not even a vice. Trust me... you do NOT want to do it that way!!
