Don't know if this is a re-post, but this bothers me: Video
I got this from another site, and someone said it was a few months old.
The subject was brought up by a UAW member who was complaining about being bashed by the "unpatriotic SOBs" who question the work ethics and pay scale of the union workers.
I will reserve my thoughts until I hear others, and then I WILL respond to comments, except that as a business owner, my employees play by my rules, or they don't play at all. This behavior is not allowed on my job, and they don't have a union to protect them.........they understand that when they come to work for me.
In another post that got deleted, someone said is it any worse than us surfing the internet during work time. I would say it's true that no work is being done in either case, but it's a big difference (worse) what those guys were doing for up to 4 hours at a time!
I wouldn't brag about not having a union, one could form at anytime and any place hee hee!!! The UAW has gotten out of hand, my dad is a ford retiree and he never liked the union. He worked beside deadbeats that made the same wage as him, but goofed off all day. My dad is old school, he believes a days work for a days pay and you take pride in your work no matter how meaningless the job. He wasn't a good fit for the union. The UAW helped set the standard for the middle class in this country, but have gotten way out of hand. They are there own worst enemy.

But your Dad has no problem collecting that pension the union got him correct?
Thats why he worked there 30 years, to collect his 600.00$ a month pension. Everything the union has done isn't bad, correct? However, you have to take the good with the bad as you don't have a choice of being in the union and still work for ford. He didn't turn down his pay check either, it would be kind of pointless for going to work. I have to give the factory workers alot of credit, I couldn't do that kind of boreing work for 30 years. I have to be outsde doing something different. I guess I have a short attentsion span. The UAW has helped set the standard for the middle class and has brought a lot of changes to the work place, but they have still become corrupt and self seeking. On the personal level, it's good to have a union leader to go to and voice your concerns and problems and get help. On a national level, they take your money, try to control your life and your vote. There' no incentive for good, or bad work. You know your local union leader has you have worked beside them for years, you vote them in, they know you and you know them, there your friend even. But thats just one guy in plant 1, B section at the Brookpark engine plant. That one union leader thats your friend and you know and helps you, isn't the whole UAW that makes bad policy setting in a national office somewhere.
Ain't any reason a man shouldn't take a pension after spending his life putting widgets in. More power to Wendell's dad, and he should be getting a heck of a lot more than he is!
I can't and won't even try to speak for all unions, but my limited experience has been that a guy runs for a union position, gets elected because he wants to change or correct some things, and then forgets where he came from. I've seen it happen time and time again.
Is there some kind of unknown federal law that demands elected people have to have some kinda frontal lobotomy as soon as they get in there?
Yeah, he retired in 83 and gets 600.00$ from ford and 800.00$ from SS for a total of 1,400.00$ a month. I guess the guy's that retire now get around 3 grand a month. They up it every contract. Yeah Mudflap, you wanna see a guy change over night, elect him as a union leader, it can go to the head.
