overheating and underheating
had an earlier thread about oil in rad but ended up getting hydro carbon test and was no blown head gasket or cracked head it was just rusty antifreezewas told bad t-stat so i went to auto zone and got talked into a fail safe t-stat don't buy them tried 3 of them and worked for about 30 miles and overheated again so i went to napa and got one that i thought was good now it works sometimes and sometimes it comes up to normal temp and then some times it gets to cool and a couple of times it overheated rad was flushed and re filled with good antifreeze so i decided to run it without a t-stat to make sure rad was no clogged and had no issues of overheating just can't get no heat out as i expected with no way to hold it in the engine to get up to 190 degrees so took it to ford and was told aftermarket t-sats won't work in it because it doesn't have a bleeder hole in the t-stat to bleed the air out of course they didn't have one in stock had to order one still waiting on it to come in anyone ever heard anything like this
