Hey every one
i just wanted to remind everyone when your working on something put on your saftey glasses.
maybe you dont like them or you think they look funky but let me tell you
i was at work the other day and i was usuing a 10lb sledge and an axel shaft out of a 40 ton haul truck to wack out the pin that goes throgh the dogbone and the bucket on a front end loader when a piece of the shaft broke off and hit me in the glasses i would be blind in my left eye if it wasnt for them
so guys just put them on it will save you in the long run
yeah, no ****! I've been a "safety guy" for many years, that's how i pay my bills. but at home? do ya think i practice what i preach? heck no! I've crawled out from many a vehicles with rust in the eye! good reminder, especially for those of us with salt dripping in our faces at this time of year!
I had that laser surgery a few years ago and corrected my bad vision perfectly. Been 20/16 ever since and am sooooo grateful to have my vision back. Because of that, I try my best to keep a pair on and keep my good sight for as long as I can.
Along those same lines, when the head of a chisel or punch starts to become "mushroomed" be sure to grind it off. I became much more cautious of that after having to dig a piece of one out of my arm. Had it went into my eye instead of my arm I'd have lost an eye! Safety glasses are a must!
