hi again all
thanks so much for the help with my heat, great in the -6 weather
anyway
on my 86 f350 hauler I have a problem with the shifter, it shifts fine it is clearence problem
the shifter is about a foot away from the dash Great but I am short and with the seat all the way up I cant get in rev or I have to hold it in
(seat in the way)
it has the old vynel seat so I am looking for a newer seat but am afraid of the same problem
can I adjust the shifter up so it does not need to be so far back
any idieas
thanks, john
It can be bent to suit, but you need to take care not to put much load on the selector forks, breaking or bending one; so, heat the shifter first where it needs to be bent
I could put block on but then I would have to lower my IQ
then I probley would"nt be able to drive
how long did it take you to come up with this did it take both of you to figure this out

woah dude. i dont know if you are kidding bout that whole "lower my IQ" or not. but im fairly certain if you weren't kidding you didnt have to say that type of message so rudely. They were probably kidding knowing them they probably were. So any time you read a message dont always take it serious some will be sent jokingly.

Yup... thanks, nflfreak.
spshauling - did you not pay attention to the winking smiley at the end of my comment?
Humor? To be taken in jest? Get it? How long have you been on the 'net?
Stosh & I related? Heh.... We oftentimes think a lot alike but other times are like opposite
poles of a magnet, it just depends.
Come on Guy's he asked a good question - You could use a torch to heat the shift rod to bend it to the shape you need. Don't heat it too close to the top of the transmission you'll burn the top seal and bushing. The NP 435 has quite a few bends to make the throws fit between the seat and dash - I don't have a picture of the NP 435; but, that may give you some ideas.
