hey everyone i got a few questions, as i just put a new remanufactured 4r70w trans in my 95 f150 and since i had so many problems with my original trans im also putting an autometer gauge in to monitor fluid temp. but my question is im going to eliminate the cooler lines going to the stock cooler and radiator and just run new lines to two (2) aftermarket trans coolers that i have mounted on the front of the a/c condensor. my question is is it ok to run two aftermarket trans coolers in line with each other? will it cause restriction or low flow on the trans pump?reason i wanna run 2 coolers inline is because they are relitively small only 6"x11" and 3/4" thick
Do not bypass the rad. cooler it serves its function well. Only 1 external cooler is needed, over cooling causes problems of its own. Unless your towing 11,000 lbs across death valley in summer, 2 ext coolers is overkill.
there is a guy on here who used to engineer trannies for ford and can prolly give you the btu requirements....but I would say you REALLY need the water/oil cooler - it does most of the work.
yeah originaly the truck ran fluid through the radiator then out to a factory external cooler mounted in front of the condenser. only problem was i switched radiators so i cant run fluid through it no more and the factory external cooler was very tiny. so i figured (2) 6x11" externals could substitute and then some for proper cooling
