What the power ratings are for premium audio 6 cd changer system is also any good radios that fit flush not din one and mountplate... does the new gps fit in 98 expy
I don't have the spec's but I'd assume low power. Say 35-55watt.
I think you are asking if there are double din radios that fit into the ford chassis. If so, I know it can be done on the superduty with a little work. Being that ford uses the same radios for all models, they should work on your expedition as well.
No GM and Chrysler uses din and half. Ford uses a size just slightly smaller (in the thousandths of an inch range) of double din. Din is 7x2", double din is 7x4", din and a half is about 7x3".
The biggest fitment problems I've read about using double dins in Fords is there is a tiny bit of plastic near the top of the dash that needs to be removed. The facia should not need any work, just the hole the radio sits in needs some messaging.
Physically the dimension should be close enough. It might take some fudging on the depth and the support slider though.
Wiring will probably be more of a pain than stick with stock is worth. The newer (say 05 and up) use a more sophisticated CAN bus. You might need converters just to turn on the radio, then you have to add the stock antenna (sat antenna) and tap for the VSS. All in all, stay with an aftermarket Double Din Nav.

You sound like you know a lot about Ford. HELP ME,HELP ME
I want to install a GPS NAV unit in my 97 F250LD. What can I use?
I would like to stick to a Ford unit if I can.
Any suggestions?
I know about the install, not so much about the parts. Your 97 should be the 92-96 F150 body style and use single din radios. I think unless you want to do a lot of fabrication work, you will need to use a fold out radio if you want a decent screen. I don't think ford ever issued a fold out video radio.
