Went to check out a pond the other day and was driving across the truck path on the dam of the pond. Well I see it turning muddy so I start to back up damage already done my truck is too damn heavy started sliding and slid right down the pond dam into the wash off for the pond at least it wasn't in the pond. Tried having another powerstroke pull me out but no joy couldn't even move me. Had to pay a tow truck to get me out of the hole cost me a whopping $102. Lesson learned these trucks sink fast. Already knew this though things just sometimes don't go as planned.
Momentum is king. Getting stuck is just part of the game. Lets you know your limit. Kinda like drinkin lots of beer, till the misses cuts you off. Then you know your/her limit!
You don't have to be heavy to get into this situation.
Years ago while on a little 4x4 outing with the family in Wyoming I decided to cross something that looked similar. I had a little Jeep Cherokee with some pretty good mud tires but it went to its hubs.
This was WAY before cell phones *at least ones that didn't look like Army radios, and I was about 12 miles from the nearest road. About 9 hours later after tearing out every other fence post from some poor ranchers fence line, I got her out. The next weekend, I installed a bumper mount Warn winch.........
Ya when ever i get even semi stuck ill try and work it a bit but i know its just gonna bury its self. Their so damn heavy! i always go with a buddy to questionable situations so he can pull me out or other way around!
Well now I see what 8K in the mud can do you sunk her down pretty good in that camoflaged mud. I could see why the other PSD couldn't get you out the way you was sunk down, maybe a chain of trucks could have got you out before calling a truck. Have fun with the pressure washer.
