Hi all
I have the 2000 F250 7.3 P.S. Runs solid- seems to anyway
Has this happened to anyone? If so what caused it?
I had the truck plugged in all day, it was below 20.
I let it warm up before I headed home on the highway.
I thought I had a 1/4 of a tank. That is what it showed.
I got the truck up to 55+, it lost power, lights on the dash flash and the truck started to slow down. But caught itself, the low fuel light stayed on and was back up and running. I took it to the fuel station - filled up and it ran fine on the highway home.
Any ideas on why the truck would hic-cup? I'm feeling a little stupid here thinking that I did some thing wrong, I don't know what it could be
if you dont know..change it any way's..for 25 bucks..its well worth it..if the filter has a hint of water your sure to have problems..also try to keep the tank full during cold weather..the less fuel you have in the tank.. the more moisture can build up..also run a fuel additive to keep from jelling...
Damn, this is electrical more likely than not. Try to keep the tank at least 1/4 or you run the risk of sloshing allowing air in the line to the injectors = bad. Not sure this would lead to all the warning lights flashing though. See if it repeats after a filter change and be sure you drain any water out of the separator which you should whilst changing the filter.
As far as the dash indicators, i'm not sure, but if the pickup tower in the fuel tank/s are clogged, your truck will get quiet and lose power and/or stall... Mine were dirty so i took the not so quick disconnect off the fuel pump and blew shop air back into the tank at <5 psi. Truck worked good after that...
