F-150's were still the #1 sold car in america in 2008.....despite 4.00 a gallon gas....they still outsold everyone else....


Looks like the 2009 model years don't have much to worry about....

 

Worry about? Are you kidding me? Just wait until Chrysler throws everything they've got in terms of incentives on the new 09' ram. And then GM will follow. As for Ford? I think we know the answer to that one too.

 

chrysler ran 50% of rams last year....gm ran 0% for 60 and 72 months....and ford still maintained #1.....

 

the local dodge dealers are taking $14K off the heavy duty truck and 17K off the 2008 1500's. Then they are taking $9K off the 2009 1500s.

chevy here are just sinkin cause they are staying on sticker prices..

the local Ford dealer is taking average 10K - 11K off the 2008 1500s (2009s ???), depending on whether XL, XLT, Lariat, 4x4, etc..

Toyota is taking $2K-$5K off the 2008 Tundras. or 0%, .9%, 1.9% depending on the months of the note (36,48,60 months in that order).


just saying what i have seen on the figures... ford currently is in the running on what dealers are taking off.. to bad the dealers keep doing the auction prices on trade ins or there would be a new truck in the driveway.

I dont' know if it was everywhere....but google 50% off rams....and you'll find that ALOT of dealers were advertising 50% off rams ALL of them, regardless of trim level.... one dealer up here was running buy one get one free on rams....

Yeah that buy one get one free was all over the press my way. Still wouldnt buy one though lol. It would have to be buy a ram get a ford f150 free. They would def sell then.

 

LOL....and everyone's worried they won't be able to sell F150's....I drive through the dealership about 1 time a week here....and I'd bet they turn over the entire F150 lot each month.....they just don't sit there....there's only 6 F-150's on the lot last night.....when i bought mine....they had over 40.....

 

Thats a great deal, wish our local dealer was offering that, I would likely be buying a dodge soon if they do.

 

We'll see how things go now that the recession has deepened.
Lets remember, about 10 of the mo's reported, were before the bottom fell out.

And just because a lot had 40 trucks, and now has 6 doesn't mean they sold them all. Trucks are traded between lots all the time.

I hope Ford does well with the F150. It's going to have to, for them to get out of this financial bind.

 

Thanks for the link. Apparently HP/TQ aren't the main criteria to get people flocking to the #1 truck.

The recession actually started almost a full year ago, the lot traded away 34 trucks and didn't get any in return????? and dealers took them but didn't sell them?????? that just doesn't make sense.....

 

Tim there were a lot of years where having poor qulity didn't affect Ford from being #1 in sales either. Yet eventually it catches up....

 

Yep read this as well. Why do you think they didnt need bailout help? The other two should take note. Build quality vehicles and you wont need to get government help.
