In the '80's and early '90's when quality was very questionable for Ford, it was also quite an issue with GM and Dodge. But the F-150 outsold the Camry and the Accord. Many on our beloved site tout the F-series trucks as "gutless fuel hogs". My point is, yes, there is a thread of truth to that, but not convincingly enough to keep Americans from buying it.

I'm proud of Ford's accomplishments and commitment towards excellence.

In he last 2 mo's over 1.5 million people have been laid off. That's a lot of people that WON"T be buying a new vehicle any time soon.

Vehicles are moved between dealers constantly. There's a whole industry just to keep up with it. Who says that auto companies practices need to make sense?

Yeh i think it goes to show that Ford builds the best truck an has for a long time. Reputation thats hard to beat. If you ever get the oppertunity to drive another make you appreciate a Ford truck all the better. Was talking to a guy that was in looking at a superduty at an auction i was attending. He got rid off his truck for a newer Chevy. But here he was looking at a this truck at auction. I said how do you like the Chevy he said its alright. Enough said I think hes missing his old truck alot. I bet he buys another Ford for his next truck.

I've had a couple of Fords now, fine vehicles...but stop patting Ford on the back. In Texas, $30k+ '08 F150 Screw 4x2 XLTs were being sold for $17k to
$18k. They're moving partly because the prices are down.

My next truck will be a Ford or Dodge since they're the only ones still offering manual transmissions in the HD lines (3/4-ton). GM is gone forever from my buying vocabulary.

I work at a Ford dealer and we do dealer trades all the time, and 90% of the time you trade a F-150 you get one in return. In the very rare case you could get a Focus or something else. Or sometimes they do acutally buy them.
