Ernestugene The part that the arrow is pointing to in the picture is a test port to connect a quick coupling fitted gauge to so that you can check fuel pressure or take a fuel sample from. As for the filter, Cat does not want you to fill the fuel filter with fuel. They want you to put it on dry and prime the system....(so you do not contaminate the fuel and feed the engine unfiltered fuel oil. If you look at the picture, on top of the fuel filter housing there is a small two bolt cover. You can remove this cover and put a hand priming pump in its place. When you change the fuel filter, install it dry and use the new hand priming pump to prime the fuel system. That should remedy any problems that you have been having while changing the fuel filter. Cant get picture loaded?

My last post which I copied at the beginning of this thread! To Fill or NOT To Fill... What's the best answer? https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/8...st-answer.html , but the rest of the story is that it was the "club president" who called CAT and he gave their recommendation in his post, and then I disagreed with that! I had previously refuted one of his posted recommendations with an analysis using equations and such, and he sent me an email implying that he didn't take too kindly to my criticism! The worst was when several other members chimed in saying that my analysis was in fact correct!

Right after I posted my opinion about pre-filling the oil filter I got an email saying... "Due to feedback from several members, the group owner, club president, and moderators we have had a discussion about your posts, and have made the difficult decision to remove your posting privileges."

So if this is what the country's coming too, I guess being 66 years old and on my way out isn't such a bad deal after all! Heck this reporter in Iraq gets to throw two shoes at Bush, and he hasn't even gotten a slap on the wrist yet! I may be stopping by Lake Ozark again in May, so maybe I'll get a chance to see your new masterpiece!

Thats BS Eugene. Everyone is entitled to their opinion. He apparently has an ego issue and doesn't like being told that he might be wrong.

We welcome your graphs and analysis here on FTE.

And to think you were rude and cussing on that other forum to get you kicked off, but I HIGHLY doubt it. cause from my reading your posts previously that is NOT your style. Much more tact to tell some one they are wrong that just calling them stupid.

this country is getting more whinners day by day.

but you are always welcome here I am sure.

stay warm. were I am at is giong to have a HIGH of -2 or around that. and colder tomorrow.

if my truck isnt' plugged in, its not starting. dont matter how many times I cycle the plugs.

Well Gene, that's about the most selfish reason I've ever heard of for removing a post. They're obviously not into fostering a further learning and education about their RV's.

I didn't figure you had done anything grossly obscene or anything like that, which is why I had to ask what happened. I though it might be something kind of dumb on the part of the other forum, but I wouldn't have imagined it would have been that silly.

Anytime you come back through MO, let me know and I'll be happy to show you the truck!

I was thinking the same thing but did not have a chance to ask. Gene getting blackballed?

At any rate, welcome back here, at least until they pull their collective heads out of their fourth point of contact on that other forum.

I certainly cannot remember you having any disagreements with anyone here. They may just need a thicker skin.

Well, it is their loss Gene. Sounds like some folks on that site need to grow up.

Gene, only you can post a ten paragraph, five link dissertation to say "wait a minute longer" I just had to rep you for it.

That is absolutely pathetic....and most likely a lie. I doubt there was much, if any, feedback or discussion. The owner simply decided to remove you.

It's got little to do with the country. Free speech doesn't apply to a privately owned website. Paying member or not. You just had the unfortunate experience of running into a little guy with a big ego. I see it a lot on some of the smaller sites.

Yeah, that sux big time, Gene. I have always enjoyed our discussions, and I have always learned something, either directly from your posts, or because of a curiosity that made me go learn something somewhere else. What a bunch of puds...

That's true but I recall all the bad press Google received when it was discovered they suppressed the freedom of information search function on their web site in China, and now a Yahoo group that's supposed to be open to anyone with an interest in Caterpillar diesel engines does a similar thing in this country! Wonder if anyone knows the email address of the Yahoo CEO?
