The Edge and your trans temps?

You guys that are running the edge What dose your temp usualy run at? Mine will run between 138-170 depending on what i am doing. Towing it will run between 150- 170.. I also put a fan that blows on my trans cooler to help keep it cool as well. Motor temp is around 188- 198 depending again on what i'm doing.

you have an e-fan on your tranny cooler? that is an awesome idea. might have to copy you.

sorry, no edge here. Those temps you are posting are low. Most guys seem to post 150-170F daily driving and upwards of 200F towing.

so far for me it's been around 135-145 (tranny) and 195 (engine) but that is just driving around with nothing in the bed and at -10°C (14°F)

Mine is usually in the 145-155 range. Lately its be so cold that its only getting up to 120 by the time i get to work. Kind of scary when you turn the truck on in the morning and your gauge says your tranny fluid temp is -25. And yes, I unprogrammed my truck like the manual says to do when it gets below 0 F. When I towed my snowmobiles last winter, my temp was about 165 to 170.

What i did was took measurements of my trans cooler and the space i had to work with and i found a fan on e-bay off of an suzuki GSX1100 had the guy measure it and it fell in my specks. So i ordered it and mounted it and i ran a toggle switch and i mounted the switch under my dash in the plastic above my right foot. I love it.. Works great and keeps the temp in range when i tow the toy hauler...

VT,

Is that just the truck or is that towing or weight in the box?

I have the Edge and the Trans temp is normally 152F when empty, towing and hauling heavy stuff will get up as high as 200F. ECT (Eng Coolant temp) is constant at 192F no matter it is empty or towing. My edge does not read Eng. Oil Temp, contacted Edge but received no reply from them.

Check the sensor, and if it's correct your thermostat is stuck open...cheap and easy to fix!

Thanks guys for the responces. I'm getting ready for a trip to FL in 2-weeks pulling our 30 ft toy hauler with our to big Arctic cats in it.. Weight all loaded up i'll be close to 7800lbs. The trip will start in NJ. About 1000 miles one way for us. And i just wanted to know if i was in tep range.
