New Ford Program :work solutions- interesting

CanadianDriver: Auto Tech - Ford's Work Solutions

I'm not great with computers, but reading about this new program, not yet available in Canada, for primary use if F150 and Econoline models seems like it has a lot of potential.

Many, many years ago, when I drove commercial trucks for a living, primarily city, but some country delivery, this would of been a great system to have. I drove many different types of trucks, but the one I racked the most miles on was a new (at the time)Econoline E 350 dually, 16-18 foot box (brain fade), with 460 V8. At the time, this was the latest in city delivery and I loved that truck.

The cab was my office, I used to plan routes, eat lunch (sometimes supper) , figure out bills, do just about everything. I was in it, at least 8 hours per day, sometimes longer.

To have a commercial use truck all set up like this, as described in the article, I think would be great, especially for those younger than me, that no doubt are sharper when it comes to computer knowledge and ability to use effectively.

Very interesting even if your not in the commercial end of it.
Also interesting is that Jim Kerr used to be a friend of mine many years ago when we were both into motorcycles. Back then he had a 64 Impala that he dropped in a 427 and retrofitted power windows into this car and then it got promptly got stolen never to be seen again......
He has had a very nicely restored red 57 T-Bird for many years, it`s absolutely gorgeous and stunning in every possible way......to me it`s a 99.9 point show car.

i could have a use for that. a laptop is too big to carry around all the time, notebook computer is almost too small and could get lost/damaged... paper turns the truck into a mess. this system would save me a pile of mess and expense!!

thanks for fixing the link!!

Would be too many years back to be an expanded small block chevy, I'm thinking . .

Sounds like a beauty. I've always thought the '55-57 T-Bird was the most beautiful, then the '61 generation, then the last gen..the retro. Also liked the '80's T-Bird, too bad you don't see too many ('80's series) restored. Geez, I haven't missed many, I suppose I like them all.

Maybe the system will be available in Canada, just in time for your next trade-in.
