Once Again Back On The Net

Heigh Ho Fellows;

Just in case anyone's interested, the Verison ADSL in the 909-620 area of Pomona, CA. has been down for almost 3 weeks because someone supposedly crashed into the Box that held this equipment & destroyed it.
It supposedly took Verison this amount of time to build a new box & order the new replacement LAN cards for installation.
According to the wife & cousin, whom both have Engineering Degrees in Telecommunicatons/Computer Technology & deals w/ these things on a daily basis, Verison already has pre-manufactured boxes & LAN cards on hand & it should have Only taken them 24-48 hours to replace what was necessary to be replaced.
So we'd had no Net access for almost 3 weeks now.
Nice to be back once again for the second time.

Col, they're prolly too busy elsewhere.

Verison has been up here for three weeks digging up all the streets and laying in new cable.

When finished, their salesman is to come around and (try and) sell everyone on their hi-speed internet, cable TV and phone service.

Considering what we have now..anything has to be better.

We had Adelphia, it was taken over by Time-Warner, which has to be the worst company in the universe.

Frequent outages, affecting the cable TV and internet occur on a regular basis. We had only one such problem in 4 years when Adelphia was around.

Their hyped Roadrunner hi-speed internet seems to be a no speed internet, and what they don't say in their ads is...there's more than one Roadrunner.

There's hi-speed, and "Higher" speed. One costs almost twice what the other costs.

Bummer, good to see you back on here.
Once in a while I have afew wireless internet problems as well but nothing at all like that. Something like that would be real hard to take.

Thanks for the big notification of your return.
Maybe that will make up for the fact that I didn't know you weren't here.
What I'm trying to figure out is who's case was it that I jumped on last week thinking it was you. Doesn't matter - you deserverd it anyway.

I had a similar experience with my former ISP, it finally came to light that the parts in question were obsolete, and rather than upgrade, they decided to scrounge up the antique parts. It took a week.

Good to see you back at any rate! Lots of 'fridge stuff has been going on!! Check back a couple pages!

That's why I prefaced my statement w/ "Just In Case Anyone Is Interested", as it turns out, some FTE'rs have been wondering.
Excuse my for jostling you out of your Zombiefied Trance of Jumping FTE'rs @ random & not remembering whom it was you Jumped last, for whatever Puerile reason you choose this time.

Hi Dick!

It was me! But if you thought it was the Colonel, I forgive you (and might just love you for it). As a matter of fact, I think in my response, I was thinking you were him as well - apologies. Tee hee!

We missed you Colonel. But now that you're back things will be perfect again!

Have fun,
Julie

PS. Isn't Verison spelled VeriZon?

PSS. Edit note All posted in good fun - I remember now I need to mention that and put this in when I do that...... -

The Major is like both my ex-wifes and my first mother-in-law.

Reading one of her replies is like fingernails across the blackboard - biting on aluminium foil - and having a wedgie all at the same time

AND

Giving a shot across the bow is soooo easy and feels so darn good.

And that's another thing I like about you Dick...

You have no qualms about attacking an un-armed man.

You're my kind of guy.

Later Man...
