78 F250 4x4 Supercab

Today at work, this kid I know offered me a 78 F250 4x4 Supercab long box. He said it was missing the motor which was originally a 400 and the box is gone, but I know where there is a box for it and I have a 400 out of a 75 LTD that I could drop in there.

How rare or common is a truck like this? Is it worth restoring or should I pass on it?

I don't know what kind of shape it's in. I'll have to go over to his house and look at it.

I don't know how much he wants for it. I didn't ask.

What can you tell me about F250 Supercab 4x4's?

Thanks!

A fairly common truck, although in my area I don't see many. So, it depends on the area. Is it worth restoring? It won't cost you much more to restore that truck vs any other truck of this era. I'm not sure right off hand and I'm sure others will know, but some Supercab and Crewcab parts are hard to come by.

The would be a nice looking truck though.

I have a 75 F150 Explorer 2wd and a 76 F250 4x4 Highboy given to me by my grandfather, so I'd like to own a Supercab. I think Supercabs are way cool and I have always wanted one for years.

I agree with you, Bucks77Ford. That'd be one sweet truck when restored back to its former glory.

In my area, there are only two Supercabs and both are 79 F150 4x4 long boxes. There are also quite a few Highboys and alot of regular cab 2wd F-100's thru F250s. There also is a 73-75 F250 or F350 Crew cab 2wd long box. I know a lady who had a 77 F250 S-cab 2wd shortbox.

I forgot to mention that there is a 79 Freewheeling Bronco in town. It's black with red, orange and yellow stripes. It has a 351M and 4 spd manual. I think it has about 90-95K original miles on it. I wish I owned that one! It's a beauty.
