2008 F-150 4x4 STX (Canada)

Does anyone know when you should do your first service?

Phoned dealer and they said said 8000 kms but I read the owners manual and the first enrty shows 12,000 kms.

the 8,000 k is correct. not sure what the 12,000 k is, but you are recommended to do an oil change every 5,000 miles (8,000 k). I personally would change the oil within the first 1,000 (1,600 k) to 2,000 miles (3,200 K). My oil was disguesting at just about 1,000 miles.

also, highly recommend 5w20 Motocraft Semi-Synthetic oil and the Motorcraft fl-820s filter

btw, your sig is outdated.

I have a question along this line. Has anyone switched to 5-30w, or 10-30w oil? My truck is gettng close to 55,000 miles, and I'm wondering if 30w wouldn't be better, especially during the hot summer months??

Don't you have a 2008 F-150 4X4 STX now to go along with the others?

No but I could use another one as the 3 I have dont run.

I also (well the wife does) have a 97 Explorer thats still running but sounds like a tin can.

The 2008 is my sons new truck and hes working and asked me to check out the servicing for him.
I was reading the manual and the first place to make a entry is at 12000 kms.
