Stock Tire Size

In the market for new tires. I believe mine has 265/70-16's on the original/stock wheels. Tire store says the 'stock' tire is a 235/85-16.

I'm trying to find out what my various brand/tread/price options are..but I need to narrow the size down first. I was hoping to go slighly larger than what I currently have but I'm confused since what I have seems to be quite a bit larger than the 'original' size.

Thoughts/comments.

On my 250 the stock tires were 265-75-r16 E rated. I,m running 285-75-16 D rated now. You can go bigger, more people will help you out shortly that run bigger tires.

Mines an 2002 & and stock size is 265-75R16- Load range E -Hard to find a 285 Load range E -I know Michelin makes one in the but its pretty pricey.

I checked the door jam tag and it didn't have tire size unfortunately

look up the VIN,
that usually shows every thing the truck came with.
