16.5s on 99 F250 7.3 regular street tires.
Door says 50lb in front, 65 lb in rear.
Have no load in bed, road trip tomorrow.
With the weight of diesel motor in front of truck this sounds backwards. Seems like air pressure should be the same??
What pressure would you guys suggest??
I agree with Lisa on this. I let the company that makes the tire tell me how much psi to run in their tires. I don't listen to the company that makes trucks. The tires will have the rated psi on them.
Remember to that the tire acts as a second shock so if you pump them up to 50-60 psi you may get better mileage but you will feel like your riding a pogo stick. Also when you over inflate tires it tends to make the center of the tread bulge out instead of being flat. This can cause you to wear the centers out before the rest of the tire. When I am not towing I run 42 in the front and 35 in the rear on my 35x12.5-17 M/T's. Just my .02
A thought too, it not just the size but more the load rating the determines the air pressure. Also, remember or PSD's are much heavier up front then in back. So unless your towing I wouldn't run your rear higher than your front.
