I have had an oil leak for sometime now, and i know its my HPOP. I am going to replace it soon but i have some mods and dont know if a stock one will keep up. I have a 4" Exhaust, DP, 6637, and soon....very soon water meth injection. so my question is if i bought just a stock HPOP would that be enough or will i have to by an aftermarket one?
Do you have any plans for bigger injectors? Are you setting an ICP code when you get on it a bunch? If you're doing either of these, a bigger HPOP could help.
i really dont know where it is leaking from but my best friends is a diesel mech. and he told me that it would probably be better off just to replace it from what he saw, no i really dont plan to do bigger injectors in the near future, and when i really get on it my check engine light comes on but i dont know if it is my over boost from the DP or another code.
Nothing against your friend, but if you just have a leak, fix the leak. Check the hose connections and plugs to see which one is leaking before the leak gets worse.
Unless of course, you're just wanting to upgrade. If that's the case, then just do it and enjoy.
The pump is most likely just fine, and its common to have a leak occurr from one of the fittings. My bet is a bad o-ring. You could save yourself alot of $$$ just by doing a little diagnosis.
Tech. the leaking oil plug can not be fixed according to ford but if you go to dieselorings.com they can get you the ring to fix the leak and save yourself alot of money.
ok im going to tear into it tonight when i get off work and hopefully find this leak, would it be better off just to replace all the o rings while im at it?
