What kind is this and why change from the original? Is it because someone added a hutch and it wouldn't work with the old bumper? How did Ford do it with the original bumper?
Right side is higher. WAG - previous owner got rear-ended, destroyed original bumper, bent right side bracket/extension, owner just slapped an aftermarket bumper onto bent mounts.
receiver looks crooked too; going with the rear-end damage theory too. Crawl around under the rear and see if anything looks out of alignment. It also might affect the way the bed sits on the frame?
looks like a mr pick up step bumber with around 6 inch drop, the the reciever mounted to it? does it say mr pick up with a load rating on that little tag? did a farmer or rancher own it before you?
Could have been a rancher. It's for sale here in California. It used to live in Arkansas and then Oklahoma. I'm going to have a look on Thursday. It was on Ebay last week but there was a problem so the buyer was let out of the deal.
Yea that bumper is bent, note the creases in it both sides and it is pushed up on the right end. Both ends are bent/pushed in, has a slight upward twist out at the ends because of it.
The receiver hitch and box look straight, truck looks straight. Looks like its all in the bumper. To make it look a little better hook a chain to the lower outer corner of the bumper and then to a tree and pull it back out, then loosen up the mount bolts a little and adjust it so its even.
However even when done with all that the bumper itself will never look flat and true again, that flat smooth surface on it is a dead giveaway area for any and all flaws.
Bumper issue (front also) is mentioned in the Craigslist page; that's honest of her. "Iffy Lube" sticker is a caution; too bad she let them lay their hands on this vehicle.
She does mention the bent bumpers, I was just wondering why the different looking rear bumper. She said she got it that way from the PO. I'll have a close look on Thursday.
I could probably change the mounting bracket and fix the front, and I'd put the original style back back on the rear.
