This is true. The OEM torque converter has many flaws, the lockup piston is only one of them. Raising the line pressure may not cause instant failure, but its not going to help much either.

I Installed that transcommand from banks. After a while of pulling stuff on and off for over 1/2 year with it, it got to where my TCC wouldn't stay enguaged. Very noticable on the last trip. And When it would enguage, it felt that it was slipping occasionally. It Also feels like its slipping with it locked even with the truck unloaded. I don't know if the electronic command had anything to do with it or not. I believe my entire setup is stock tranny wise. Tranny still shifts solid in all speeds 1-OD.

David, how does this plan sound to you:
1) Superior shift kit: Oregon Performance Transmission, Inc.: SUPERIOR E4OD SHIFT CORRECTION PACKAGE 1989-1998
2) Sonnax .427 boost valve, they got a .500 one as well but that ain't recommended for diesels: Oregon Performance Transmission, Inc.: SONNAX E4OD 4R100 LINE PRESSURE MODULATOR VALVE .427"
3) New filter w/ retaining clip
4) Valvoline Max-Life
All of these combined, and the electronic pressure riser gets ditched.
