Sure makes draining and taking oil samples a lot easier.

Get the kind with a nipple for attaching a hose you can put in a container when draining. I bought the other one, which is great, but the nipple/hose addition would have made it much sweeter.

Some of the best cheap modifications include a Furmoto valve and the improved HFCM drain plug. Basically anything that makes routine maintenance easier should be on your "to do" list.

Our trucks require clean lube oil and an adequate fuel system pressure. Somehow I think that many fuel injector problems could be prevented by routine HFCM draining and fuel filter replacement.

Best thing I ever did was installing that drain plug. Drain about 3 qts of oil, take my sample for Blackstone and then turn off the drain, move over the big oil drain pan and let it finish draining. Not a drop down my arm!!

Yeah, gotta love not having to ever worry about stripping a plug again, just be sure and warm up the truck before you drain, otherwise it takes forever to empty out.

I have heard the HFCM drain plugs can become corroded and are very hard to take out after a while. Have you had this issue? How long have you had your's installed for?

My brass after market HFCM plug became so hard to get out that I finally needed a large pair of vice grips. It made a mess of the plug, and on further inspection, the unthreaded section just above the threads was black and corroded. I know that brass reacts with aluminum quite strongly. Combine that with road salt, and you might have a problem. I reinstalled the original steel plug, and there has been no further corrosion or problem. I now get diesel down the arm again, but its better than a stuck plug.

I just installed mine yesterday and I'm definitely looking forward to the cleaner oil changes, etc.

I shopped around and ended up getting mine from QuickOilDrainValve.com - the best way to change oil. I have a discount code for 10% if you get it from them. PM me if that's where you go.

Mine has been stripped for over two years. Guess when the last time I drained it was. Additives work wonders.LOL
