Tire Inflation

OK here's the deal. I have 31/10.50/15's on my truck they are load rated at 2250lbs but my front and rear axle weights are only 2140lbs and 1740lbs. How do I figure the correct inflation since my truck doesn't weigh 9000lbs?

John

your truck doesn't have to weigh 9000 lbs....the load rating on the tires is the max load they can handle continuously at the specified max pressure....so that means you will overload your truck long before you overload your tires....i always went about 5# lower than max all the way around.....
