07 Ranger, gas gauge light

Welcome to FTE.
I like ttocs388' s idea, as it'll sorta calibrate the light.
If it's coming on with the vehicle on level ground, it's not a good idea to run it this low on fuel, as the fuel pump is in the gas tank, immersed in fuel & depending on that fuel to cool the pump. So make it a habit to refill at 1/4 remaining, so the fuel pump stays cool & happy & works real good, for a looooong time!!!!
Mine will come on if I park it facing down hill on a incline with a little less than 1/4 remaining, which for my 19 gallon tank, would be about 4 gallons remaining.
Some more thoughts for pondering.
