07 Ranger, gas gauge light

Hello! Any thoughts on how much gas is left in my 2007 Ford Ranger XLT when the low gas gauge light comes on the dash? Thank you! :)

I'd say around 1-3 gallons.

Usually about 3 or 4 gallons when it comes on in my 06.

next time it comes on, pull over and fill up. Now subtract the number of gallons added from the total number of gallons the tank holds and you have your number.

Welcome to FTE.

I like ttocs388' s idea, as it'll sorta calibrate the light.

If it's coming on with the vehicle on level ground, it's not a good idea to run it this low on fuel, as the fuel pump is in the gas tank, immersed in fuel & depending on that fuel to cool the pump. So make it a habit to refill at 1/4 remaining, so the fuel pump stays cool & happy & works real good, for a looooong time!!!!

Mine will come on if I park it facing down hill on a incline with a little less than 1/4 remaining, which for my 19 gallon tank, would be about 4 gallons remaining.

Some more thoughts for pondering.
