6637 Mod

To anyone who has done this, can you use the stock intake tube or do you have to fabricate a new one? I wanted to have someone bend a 3.5" or 4" exhaust pipe for the new intake but no one in central Florida can bend anything over 3".

i use the stock tube and went to the parts store and bought a piece of tubing at a 45. it seems to work fine until i get the time to fabricate something else.

You can hook the 6637 up to the intake hose by streching and it will work. Or use a exhaust 45* to make it fit into the air box area.

there is nothing to it other than removing the stock air box and adding an elbow with the filter. it will filter so much better than the stock air box and increase air flow.

Go to home depot and get a 3" 45* ell it is 4" od clamp it to the existing rubber tube and get a gear clamp to clamp it to the filter works great. Also if u have a fleetpride filter sales store near u they carry Baldwin part # PA2818 same as NAPA 6637 for only $28.00 NAPA wants about $60 bucks for theirs.

I was wondering if the PVC would work, I know you can do that on the 98+ trucks. Great Info!
