I have a 97 F-150 4.6 107000. I would say the truck has not been running just right sent it had 80000. The problem is. The turck started like shaking after a hard run like over 65mhp and if you came to stop it would shake. I replaced the plugs around that time. It seem to get a little better. Last night I was driving on the inerstate. I had it at WOT/fullspeed. Right after I exited off it started missing or shaking. Now if it idle or runs at a steady speed it act like it's missing. From thake-off @ WOT to top speed it act ok.
If any one has any info in this and can help Thanks
Did you replace the plug wires? Get a spray bottle and when it is dark spray the wires with water. If you see a light show the wires are bad.
I don't see the OEM wires lasting 100,000 miles. When you changed the plugs you may have stretched the wires just enough to compound the problem.
