lately my truck has not been starting cold or if it does it runs real rough until it warms up a little.I had the inductive heating flash done about a year ago and block heater is plugged in and working.after truck is warm all is normal.up untill lately truck would start down to about -20 celsius (not plugged in)with no issues now will barely start at -5 c being plugged in.
no dtc codes have been set and i am running same oil i have ran since new with racor filters.
fuel filters were changed about 10000 km ago.
|Could the injectors finally given up the ghost or ?
truck has 250000 km on it and all injectors are the originals
from what i have noticed all glow plugs seem to be working but not sure how to check them
I have an 05 F350 that is doing the same thing. Does yours get worse if it sit a few days? Mine is company truck and if I let it sit all weekend it starts bad and runs bad till it warms up a bit. Mechanics at work don't have much experience with the 6.0 yet so I'm hoping I can find an answer here.
The answer is the latest heat flash for the injectors at the dealer. I hate to give advice that includes dealership work ( I have bad experience ), but hard cold start/ rough running cold is injector related, and the flash could/will help.
I'm sure someone will chime in with that info, I personally don't have the flash, I have 8 brand new injectors. Some people blame worse fuel economy after the flash....

Hi,
I read the post on your truck with rough starting issues and wanted to put in my two cents.
If failing injectors are suspected or diagnosed in your 6.0, I encourage you to check out Hot Shot's Secret.
This additive was designed to address the most common cause of injector failure in the Power Stroke 6.0 engine...which is stiction due to oil shearing.
The product was tested by International extensively and found to correct the issue an astounding 86% of the time and improved performance for the remaining 14%.
It is guaranteed 100% so there is no risk to try it.
