I'm looking to either lift my 2008 F450 slightly or perhaps just level it if it's a bunch cheaper. what kind of hardware have you all been using? Icon's lowest lift is 4 and I think that's the most I'd be looking to lift, but if someone has a decent leveling kit I might prefer that.
I know about Icon but wow is it expensive. Anybody want to comment on what they're using?
I have the donaho(sp?) leveling kit and couldnt be happier with it. I am also running 37" toyos no rubbing at all. (not been off roading) street queen.
What size springs do you have on the front of the 450? Any coil lift springs are going to be progressive (and probably rated for less), so you might want to weigh losing some GAWR if you lift it.
You have the same question I do. Mine is a cab and chassis. They sit very very low. A spring shop said that the rear end is no problem. He can install blocks with or without taper. The front is another story, he is looking into doing it without all the extras he said just add to the cost, nothing else. If you find a 3 inch or 4 inch please post info. With the 160000 spring load ford did not put any spacers. Does the f450 truck have any rear spacers?
I took my 08 F350 to Desert Rat. $200.00 installed and I have a 2.5" front end leveling kit. Said for the F450s and F550s to go with the 3" kits because they sit lower then the F350s from the factory.
I was running a 34" tire before I leveled the truck. Now they look too small for the truck. 35s I'd imagine wouldn't help much.
I did this as an interm step to actually lifting my truck sometime next year. So, I'm not too worried about my itty bitty tires just yet.
