Gutting EBPV

I think I'm going to gut my EBPV. Is this recommended? Im not to concerned about not having an exhaust brake anymore. Any tips to how to go about this since Im new to workin on it is appreciated. And dont be afraid to tell me it's a dumb idea. Thanks

not a dumb idea, its good for 100 degree temp drop on the egt's. fairly simple to do, you literaly remove it, gut it and reinstall the housing. i cant recall the freeze plug size you need offhand.

is it beneficial to the spool or anything besides temp

they also make a replacement part w/out the ebpv I think its around $125...but its cheaper to just gut it yourself
