I'm looking for an adapter so my oil filter will be vertical instead of horizontal. I've seen stuff on ebay, but I'm not sure which to choose. Would it be better to stay with Ford NOS, or is there an aftermarket adapter which is better?
You could still buy them new from Ford as of a few years ago. You want the later casting C8AE-6881-A large passage one. This is a 68 and up vertical adapter. Last one I bought was $5 off a new crate engine that went to a remote filter setup. Look for the same one on ebay. Most of the NOS ones there are newer parts and fetch around $30. Used is fine too. There is a billet aftermarket one but it's like $80-90 last I looked. Hopefully some here will have one for you.
Would you be willing to part with one? PM me and we can work out the details.
Thanks!
