I just purchased a 2001 F250 V-10 4x4 from a guy with only 18,000 miles. The truck has a 3" susp. lift with weld wheels and 33" tires. When I turn hard to the right, all is cool. When I turn hard left, I can hear the tires rubbing against the inside of the wheel well. It doesn't hit the metal fender "Flare" but it has broken the plastic inside the well. Do I need to replace this part? How do I prevent it from happening again? Can I remove or cut away a part of the plastic? And why does it only happen when I turn left and not when I turn right? Any help would be great.
Something is definately up there. I don't know about new F-250's, but I know you can run 35's on the 80-96 F-250 HDs without any body or suspension mods. The fact that you have a new 2001 F-250 SD with a 3" lift and are still having problems with little 33's sounds bad. You should have that checked out right away before anything gets seriously damaged if it isn't already. With a 3" lift on a 2001 F-250 Superduty, I would suspect you could run at least 35's no problem, you could most likely stuff some 38's in there pretty easily too without any problems.
