finally did it

Well I finally bit the bullet and changed to synthetic oil today as I was only 1000 miles over due for an oil change. I have been getting the romps pretty bad on cold start up so I thought I would give this a try as some here have said the synthetic has all but eliminated that problem. I have to say the truck does seem to be quite a bit quieter in the 15 miles that I have driven it this afternoon. I was about to give up on changing over, went to one Wal-Mart here and they had none not even any regular 15-40 went to another one and they only had two gallons, bought those and then went to advance auto and they only had three gallons so I bought those as well. Anyhow I think this is going to be a good move on my part, now just have to see about the cold start ups, and it sounds like the cold is coming soon, but it was very nice today so I took full advantage. By the way I went with Rotella, that is what I have been using only in the dino form.

Changed mine today from regular Rotella 15W 40 to Schaeffers full synthetic 5W 40 series 9000. I haven't noticed much difference yet, but I only drove it 1.6 miles. We'll see tomorrow am when it's in the 20's when I start it, then I will go on a 20 mile round tripper.
