December truck work
mojo
There are 9 of them so that was a good job to get done.
Reason for the LED's is the truck has so many lights on it that the main headlight switch cant take it.
Hopefully with the LED's I wont have that problem agian.
Pushed my non running 02 into the shop so it can start thawing out.
Im going to do the foil delete while Im waiting for my IPR parts.
..............then boom.

I just remembered I live in Princeton and it's Sunday, guess it may stay black for awhile.
My regular-cab came with T-code front springs (4400 lb rating). They were sagging. The B-code rear springs (6830 lb rating) were worse; the passenger side spring, 3rd leaf down, was broken in 2 places. The driver's side was sagged so bad, the truck sat exactly level (measured with a tape measure today).
The passenger rear shock had no oil left in it; one day the shock mount had rotated on the axle tube (maybe I smacked it on something), and the shock had partially bent around the axle tube, breaking something and draining most of the oil. The driver's rear wasn't much better. The front shocks were okay, but were definitely worn.
Back in May, I was cruising Craigslist and picked up a set of V-code front springs (5200 lb rating) from a 2004 Harley Davidson Edition 4-door diesel, along with the B-code rear springs and all 4 shocks. Everything was all in excellent condition, no rust, and the seller said his truck had never carried a load. I believe I paid $300 for everything. The seller had purchased a lift for his truck and didn't need the old parts. Anyways, these parts sat in my garage from then until now.
On Dec 22 I picked up the U-bolts from North Shore Off Road in North Vancouver, making sure the fronts were about 2" longer than needed. Had to convince the parts guy that I really did need semi-round U-bolts and not flat U-bolts. Also checked the bag of nuts and washers before I left and discovered 12 nuts and 20 washers; good thing I checked then because I would have been pissed today. Dec 23 I picked up a set of spring center bolts from Scott Spring in Surrey (no charge, thanks guys!).
Today Gary and I swapped out the rear springs for the new ones. Took the plasma cutter to the old leaves from the front and rear springs and made a pair of 2"-tall zero-rate spring packs to level the front end. Bolted them to the new front springs; that's why I got longer U-bolts and new center-bolts. Installed the front springs and all shocks.
Truck handles great now, no more diving and wallowing into the corners, it turns flat, a lot firmer over the bumps, and it looks good to boot.

Just have to load it up with a couple quads and see how it does. It used to lean a lot.
