I have 01 F250 with a banks stinger kit and 4in exhaust no muffler. I live in by lake Ontario and it gets cold. This is the first year I have had to use anti gel. I dont know if that's whats fixing the problem. You take off the truck takes a bit to get it going and it will spit and sputter and then take off with power again. Its been coming and going for two weeks and I cant figure it out.
Welcome to FTE!!! i would start by removing your chip and see if that makes a difference...
Is there any consistency to it doing this at all? Or is it more random. Do the RPM'S drop when this happens? Or is it more like you are hitting and letting off the throttle?
how long since oil and filter, and fuel filter has been changed?
Is it only doing this when the truck is cold (i.e. starting up and pulling out of the driveway in the morning without letting it warm up ) or does it do it whent he truck is warm?
The trucks gauge is ready normal but it feels like your driving it when its cold. What I dont under stand is I have changed the fuel filter the oil and had the trans flushed and filled. I put the anti gel in last time and it worked this time nothing its doing nothing. I had a super chip on it but its turn off and only use it to find codes but there are none. The truck has 205K and ran good up until a few weeks ago. What does the light on the shifter flashing mean?
The light sounds about right. I had taken off the tc awile ago and can the torque converter work and stop workin like that. Today I drove the truck and its fine full power with 22 lbs of boost. Thank you for all the info.

I'm not sure. Definitely a good idea to get the truck scanned with a proper scanning device.
Just a thought, but is this your first winter running ULSD? Any biodiesel mixed in? You may just have to start running anti-gel. Next time you fill up, find yourself a clear bottle and put about 1 liter of fuel into the bottle from the pump without any anti-gel treatment. I'd keep using the treatment in your truck, but leave the bottle outside overnight and see if the fuel has started to gel in the bottle.
