I just picked up a 1994 f-350 with a 7.3 non turbo. the problem is the truck misses like hell and pours out white smoke until it warms up and then it runs pretty good. the white smoke is definately raw fuel and not head gaskets,etc.. the miliage is 227,000 and the injectors appear to be original. i didn't change the fuel filter yet, could this cause the problem. the truck fires right up nomatter how cold it is, it was 12 degree's this morning and it fires right up so i pretty much rule out glow plugs but i could bewrong.
ya i have have a set of 8 injectors from my e-350 that blew the tranny out in and am going to rip them out and junk it, the injectors only have about 100 miles on them so they should still be good. but i'm going to try the gas filter first then go with the injectors.
just as a reference when your changing injectors you should get a return line kit as well because when messed with the lines will leak and cause starting issues you can probably get away with replacing the hose and use #111 o-rings i think the ones you want are viton.just lettin ya know so your not cussin it later.

Thank you for your service!
Salvage as much as you can. as soon as you toss somthing thats when you will need it most...
wish I had a spare eng. and tranny...LOL..
My guess is you have a couple bad injectors that are not spraying the fuel.
The low engine temp is not letting it burn, so it gets exhausted as white smoke.
Even good injectors will put out a little white smoke at low temps till the engine gets warm, should see mine in the below zero temp range.
