I have a 1994 f-350 turbo crew cab long bed. I would like to change the differential oil and was wondering what type of oil to use and the quantities. thanks again for a great site!
if it isnt limited slip regular 80w90 or sae 90 is fine limited slip needs friction modifier added
or you could use the rediculously expensive 75-140 syn.
it takes about three quarts
thanks for the response, but I still do not see any plug or way to drain or fill the oil. All i see is a plug near the ABS sensor on top of the diff housing. How can I be missing this?
ok, i just changed mine today and was looking for about 10 minutes myself, lol. your looking in the wrong spot. if your looking at the truck facing the front, the plug is on the front side of you to the upper right on where the axle comes into the diff. dont look for it from the back (where you would think it would be). go around the the front on the side of where the axle comes in, you will see it.
I think I see what your talking about. Does the plug have a small cover you remove to access the drain plug? if so i think I found it. thanks again for the help.
