With the new tires your speedometer is going to be reading 6.9% too fast. You will actually be going 55mph when your speedometer shows 60mph, therefore you are going to be putting miles on your car that you haven't actually traveled.
They wouldnt fit your truck anyway. First off, we cant fit 15s on our trucks because of the brakes. Secondly, the bolt pattern on those wheels are different, our trucks are 5x135mm, this bolt pattern is exclusively use on the 97-03 F-150s and Expedition.
Look on places like Craigslist. I seen a set of 16" wheels off of a Expedition for $25. The steel wheels that come on these trucks look soo plain, but some of the aluminum wheels look better.
I have a buddy with 15's on his 97 F150 and he has had them on there for a number of years with no problem.
For one: He must have done some pretty heavy grinding on his calipers(read: Unsafe!).
For two: The wheels must have been custom, because like "Bobby" said, the bolt pattern is exclusive to '97-'03 F150/Expy's, so any major wheel manufacturer would not produce wheels in 15's.
I'd love to see how you plan on putting 15" tires on 16" wheels
Read the post, I said I had a EXTRA set of 15's with new tires on them, and the truck currently has 16's. When they told me the 15's would throw my speedo off, I said I would get a set of 16' wheels that look good and put my tires on them that are on the truck now.

I'm betting your buddy has a <'96...
Of course the wheels would be custom to a ford, they are aftermarket, and woul have to match the bolt pattern.
He has a 97, I have seen title, registration, etc.
In fact, he has won several shows with this truck because it is fully customized.
He has 15's on it. Called to make sure, and yes, it is a 97, and no, he didnt make any changes to the calipers.
