you wont even be close to rubbing with that.... that is barely bigger than stock.
you can go to 33x12 before rub will start to be an issue.
Im assuming u have a 4x4 here...i dont know about 4x2....
yeah the one we are looking at is a 02 xlt 4x4 it has 265s on it now, i was doing a search and it said i could do 285/70 however, i cant even seem to find them tires exist?!?!? i can find 285/75 will those rub? i will prob do a tt and shackle replacement, anyway will the 285/75 cause a problem, THANKS
if you go on tirerack.com and put in 285/70/17 about 15 tires come up...very popular size for our trucks. it will fit no problems, with no rub...
Im running 34x13x18 on my truck right now and had to get rid of stock running boards, trim the lower part of the front air dam... both were rubbing.
My last set were 285/70/17 and i had no probs at all...
if i get the 285s all terrain will they do the whistle/roar? (like what i hear with the 31s all terrain on my explorer)? that is what im kind of looking for, plus it helps to have a lil bigger in Ohio during the winter cause of the snow and summer time pot holes
depends what model u have... most 4x4s come with a 17 inch rim, but i do believe some have a 16 inch.
Yes... if u get a AT it will be a bit loader, and a MT is REALLY loud... I had MTs for a while and on the highway those were LOUD... but they were awesome off road, on the beach, and in snow... i NEVER got stuck anywhere....
If you have the 17" rims, the stock size was a 265/70R17 which translates into a 31" tire. The 285/70R17 equals a 33", if I did the calculations right.
