Hello everyone. This is my first post on this site. Lets start by saying i recently bought a 1964 F100 2wd stepside. The truck is from Arizona so its solid as a rock. It has a mustang II front suspension, 460 big block, C6 tranny with a ford nine inch in the rear. The rear leafs were inverted to allow for wider tires and the bed was mini tubbed.
Anyway, i wanted to share my experience with the company EzWiring. on their website they sell gauge panels. Well what i thought was a gauge panel. I ordered the 5" speedo and the 3 3\8 tach and quad gauge to the left and right. the picture shows it stamped steel so 89 dollars wasnt too bad. What i received was a billet insert that goes behind the big center gauge that allows you to put a 5" in the middle. As for the other gauges, they told me i would have to take a hole saw and cut holes for them!! This is not what i ordered!!! Their website tells nothing of this nor it being a billet insert. it says its a guage panel. I called them to ask them about this and they right off the bat said "well just return it with a 20% restock fee"..........terrible customer serivce. I work at Summit Racing and this kind of service wouldnt fly. Welll sorry for the long post, just wanted you guys to be aware of this. Have a good day!
Yeah their webpage isn't exactly forthcoming with good information on any of their products. Their page used to have all sorts of info on their harnesses, now it's just a picture with no information, just like their gauge panel. I guess it's not good for business when people hear about their products and want to go read up on them, and have to find the info at a 3rd party source like a forum, or at a dealer's webpage.
im glad you brought this up. i was just about to order the gauge panel but was not sure 100% if it was what i needed .as far as the harness there great but the instructions could a little better detaled fo the (D-I-Y) guy.
I can't speak for anyone else, but for myself. I purchased a wiring kit and rewired my entire truck. Wayyyy, cheaper than the competitors kits. As we all know there were some challenges(problems/questions.) I called the company, spoke to tech support, and I wish I could remember the guys name, but it was the same guy each time. He was more than helpful, knew his stuff, and offered encouragement and support when I was ready to drive the thing into the ocean.
I have referred a few of my truck building friends, and it was the customer service/support that I was so pleased with. Wire is wire, but you can't beat having an expert on speed dial that will put up with an angry pissed off guy like myself. If you have questions call the company and find your way to "tech support", I bet you will be pleased.
Enough of that I got a post some pics! Big Als F100 is on the road!
