Center cap compatibility
I have a 2000 Expedition XLT that came with the styled steel wheels 16inch. I got a set of 16 inch 5 spoke aluminum wheels from a 1999 F-150 Lariat. Both wheels are 14mm offset. I installed the aluminum wheels on my Expy, they fit fine, my problem is the center caps do not seem to fit correctlly, I used the lug nuts from the 2000, im assuming the 1999 had different type of lug nuts? I remember hearing something about doing some kind of mod to the 1999 caps to make them fit, bending them a certain way or something?
