Bear, there is a centering pin on the rear leafs that is suppose to line up with the hole in the rearend spring perch pad.I sheared one off my truck and the rearend slid back about 2".I pulled both sets of springs and had them rebuilt at National Spring, what a difference! If it's not the back end then I would advise a trip to your local alignment shop to check the frontend and possibly the frame. Don't forget to have them check for cracks in the frame at the steering gear, mine just started to crack.
