cold 7.3, no power
My 01 7.3 is not making any power and the boost gage says 0 until certain throttle or exhaust pressure. Is cold weather causing the waste gate to malfunction, or is the turbo going? There is a loud sound out 4" exhaust like blocked pipe, especially on high idle.

Sounds like the warm up valve on the turbo hot side is stuck.When they are stuck they work like an exhaust brake. Look down low behind the turbo you will see linkage.Watch and see if it moves or tap on it to free it up.
