i had a 70 'cuda that had a problem like that.

a valve was bad on the steering box.

if i let go of the wheel it would turn to the right as fast as possible.

the ride home after i bought it was interesting.

had to really hold on to the wheel when shifting the 4 speed.

did it work alright for 2 months and then start this problem?

That was a notorious problem with old Mopar steering, I've heard way to many stories that end horably from guys driving down the road and the car suddenly turning hard, usually to the left.

However Ford boxes are a little differant. bansheeduner sorry to say the problem is in the steering box, time to have a talk with whoever sold you that reman box.

My truck did this. P/S pump was the culprit. Would turn right really easy, and was difficult to the left.

That doesn't make any sense how can a power steering pump only work in one direction?

Answer, it can't. PS pumps only pump fluid in one direction at a constant pressure, what work is done with that pressure is contoled by the steering box.

The origional p/s pump blew up on me, really it did blow up. Then I replaced it with a cheep one from auto zone. When it was about 2 weeks old it starting whining real bad and wouldn't turn left, and all you had to do to turn right was let go of the wheel. New pump fixed the problem. Dont tell me it cant, because it did. I guess that it is possible that draining the fluid could have disslodged some gunk from the box there by fixing the problem, but I have to this day never touched the box.
