OT 69 torino

I see in alot of you guys signatures that you have classic cars too. What are some good websites like this one? I'm mostly interested in the older torinos and parts sources for them.At the moment I looking for the vacuum switch that controls the heat, ac, defrost for my 69 torino. Thanks alot for any ideas you might have. Mike

Where exactly does this vacuum switch mount?

Under the dash or on the engine?

Are you asking about one of the the vacuum control valves that operate the doors in the plenum chamber?

Or the vacuum control switch that mounts to the backside of the control panel where all the vacuum lines connect?

If this is what you want, it was NOT sold separately on 1968/69's, it only came with the panel itself.

The 1965/72 FORD PASSENGER CAR PARTS CATALOG is available on a CD from hipoparts.com / Also sold on ebay.

I believe the price is around $25.00.

Illustration Section 195.1 / Pages 10 & 11 of this catalog shows everything under the dash and the panel itself with all attaching parts.

If you need parts, you don't have to go any further then right here on FTE.

I have all the parts catalogs, and search for obsolete parts here on FTE every day for members.

It is the switch in the dash that all the vacuum lines hook to. It mounts in kind of a tray and a slider in the dash controls it to switch from heat to ac to defrost. I know that a switch from a 70-72 will not fit. I keep watching ebay but have had no luck. Thanks alot, Mike

1970 and later is different and the switch you need was only sold with this:

C8OZ19A884A .. A/C Control Mounting Bracket / Fits: 1968/69 Fairlane/Torino.

I found TWO of these NOS (New, Old Stock).

Hey Mike in Ohio, have I just found another car for you. It's on ebay in Elyria Ohio, 5 miles from me. It's a 68 torino GT, 390, 4-speed car, the body is in primer, but no rust. It doesn't have the original 390, the one with it is out of a 66 galaxy I believe it said, it has the ford 4-speed top loader. Motor and tranny are out of the car, engine needs rebuilt but is all together. Alot of detailed pitures and highest bid is only 1,500$ It looks like a great deal and in really good shape. the big block 4-speed cars are really getting rare.

wendell, Where are you located? If you're 5 miles from Elyria, we're practically neighbors depending on which direction. Just curious.

Well, it's probobly more like 10 miles, I live outside of grafton in grafton township, is called Belden. It's abot 5 miles from Grafton to Elyria. Anyhow, it's not far from where I live to Elyria. I'm close to the corner of Rt 83 and Rt 303.
