the shock mounts I've done in the past have been available from Ford for a reasonable price ($18.00 a piece or so rings a bell on my old 80's vintage trucks). Air tools or a torch are the best way to get the rivets out but an electric drill and a cold chisel will work too...Drill a hole almost as large as the rivet shank diameter through the rivet and cold chisel the head off. Replace the rivets with bolts and nuts Grade 5 or better and your back on the road.
Can you get a Saw's All blade up there?.... maybe cut the bolt as close to the shock as you can to get a vise-grip on the stub. Theres always heat or w-40 at that point.
No way to cut it out. ill call the ford dealership and I have a friend that has a frame shop that i can get to cut the old brace. Hope that works. Thanks for all the help guys...
my rear shock mount stripped out on my old 01 f250. I cant remember exactly how i fixed it but i believe i cut the bolt as close to the frame as i could. Then i drilled a hole through the frame as close to the origianal mount as possible. Then i used a grade 8 bolt that was the same size as the origianal mount. I forgot how long the bolt was, probly about the same size as the original with the addition of the frame thickness included. My first time i used a bolt with threads the whole way, that bent its first time off road so i replaced it with the same size bolt but the thread only reached to the end of the shock bushing the rest was smooth. (Im not sure what the name for this type of bolt is). This bolt worked fine and held up through heavy offoard use.
