I'm either getting stage 2 or hybrids not sure yet. I want power, but i don't want too much that I start breaking thing. I'm going to have head studs, valve springs and push rods by then, but don't want to throw a rod, or start breaking things inside the end.
Well, you do have Forged rods, so with teh tranny and studs, etc. , 500 wouldn't be bad at a wideopen tune i dont think. Depends on how much air you got too.... TN won't handle 500 i don't think
I just put stage IIs in this last weekend. I can tell you that they are plenty for me. I don't want to break anything either, but with these, I just might. I don't know how much my truck can take, but it is a beast now.

A stock H2E has been proven to actually flow less than a GT38R. However, the 38 is maxed out as far as it can go, however the H2E is a great platform for modifying, a 66/71/17 is a great turbo, or something along that lines. I would recommend going with hybrids, and a smaller nozzle. No matter who is tuning them, large nozzles end up killing stock rods. If i could do it again i would have done a small nozzle with a larger hybrid that actually used less oil than an A code, and my rods would probably still be in my other motor. It all depends on the tuning, ive come to find out. If i could do it again, i would go straight to the guys at Swamps Diesel... They have done their homework on the past few years, they didn't give up the 7.3, and they really have some innovative ideas. They have at least one, possibly two trucks at 650+ hp, on stock rods. Your mileage may vary, but i would be least worried blowing my motor up if i was using them

I'm going with the garrett 38R. What rods did you have? the PMR's?
