1988 E-250 Van Front Left Shock
Anyone know how to reach the top bolt on an E-250 ClubWagon Driver side front shock? It looks like it cannot be done without loosening the body mounts and jacking the body up. If not I'm thinking about sawzalling the shock right under the bushing and seeing if that works (would this cause more problems?). Any advice would be appreciated.

FWIW assuming you have the stud type top mount, you can cut to remove, but do consider you have to get one back in. If you can make enough room with a hammer or pry bar to just get a wrench on it-not to turn, just to hold the nut then turn the cover or grab it just below the lower bushing? Does the shock mount bolt on, and if so, can you get to the bolts to remove the mount? Don't remember any problems when doing fronts on E-350's at work, just the plastic liner was miserablely stiff and would cut the hands easily when pushin' it around to make room.
